If you are using Microsoft. FrontPage. 2000, you do not need to choose the www folder, but for any other FTP software tool, you will need to choose your www folder for the file's destination. Once you name your home page correctly and re-upload it, you will overwrite the Under Construction page that was created for you. Or if your page has one of the following filenames, you can just delete the existing index.html (Under Construction page) and your page will show up. Do this by going into your Control Panel and clicking on File Manager and then going into your /www directory. Then go to the index.html file (the Under Construction page) and click on delete to the right of the file name. default.htm index.phtml index.pht index.cgi index.shtml index.htm welcome.cgi welcome.html index.htm Just delete the index.html file and anything in this list will then come up automatically. Notice that "home.html" is NOT on the list and so will not show up as your home page. You would need to rename it. Note: The filename for your home page will NOT come up automatically if you use capital letters. The filename has to be lower case. Site Creation Tool users: If you are using the Site Creation Tool and you are ready for your pages to be visible on the Internet, just click the Site Creation Tool Button and then click on "Change Default to Site Creation Tool" |
